Three Essential Products for Dry and Dehydrated Skin

On my thirtieth birthday, I went through puberty again.

No one prepared me for adult acne, which is the acne from my teenage years, but with drier skin and more wrinkles.

My skin was not what it used to be. In my twenties, I got away with going to bed without removing my makeup after a late night at the club. I used the same Clean & Clear face wash since I was a pre-teen. I only wore sunscreen on sunny days (most of the time).

I didn’t catch the deterioration of my skin early enough because I simply didn’t pay attention to my face. In general, I didn’t have too many skin issues (thanks to genetics) so I didn’t see a need to. I was one of those people who didn’t linger in the mirror.

In public bathrooms, women often checked themselves out in the mirror — fixing up their hair, touching up their makeup, and adjusting their outfits. I didn’t do any of that. I washed my hands and dried them as fast as possible, rarely glancing up at the mirror. If I had food on my face, on my shirt, or in my hair, I wouldn’t know.

Then my thirties hit and everything flipped like a switch. My face was covered in acne scars, inflamed, sensitive, and not just dry but dehydrated.
